North Berwick Golf Club West Links sits a few miles along Scotland's golf coast from its neighbouring Muirfield and Gullane. This busy little seaside town has some fantastic beaches and a spectacular golf course. Set along the coastline, the course boasts some fantastic views of the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock.
A Brief History of North Berwick Golf Club West Links
The Club was founded in 1897 and has a long history of hosting important championships. The course has undergone several changes over the years, including a major redesign by Fred Hawtree in 1976. It has since been updated by Martin Ebert and is now a challenging and scenic course that attracts golfers from all over the world.
Course Design at North Berwick Golf Club West Links
Sitting at just over 6000 yds this Par 71 is not for the faint-hearted. The terrain is a mix of links and parkland, with fast greens and challenging bunkers. Specifically, the links has strong Par 3’s and some quirky ‘thinking man’s golf holes. The course is known for its signature holes, including the famous 15th "Redan" hole, which is considered one of the best par-3 holes in the world. Also hole 13 ‘The Pit' requires you to place your tee shot in order for you to have the correct angle to hit your next shot over a wall guarding the narrow green…….the wall has been there longer than the links itself.

There are modern changing rooms located on the ground floor with bag stores and lockers for your valuables.
Of special note here is the pro shop. Fully refurbished in 2014, it stocks all the latest equipment from the likes of Callaway, Titleist, TaylorMade and Ping. There is also a state-of-the-art indoor golf studio with Trackman, swing bays and a putting area.

Membership at North Berwick Golf Club West Links
Membership of the Club offers all the usual privileges but is limited to 500 Ordinary Members and the waiting list is currently closed to gentlemen. They are however still accepting applications for ladies’ memberships.
