Taking place just a week before The Open Championship, The Genesis Scottish Open is one of the leading tournaments on The DP World Tour and PGA Tour. Long time host venue Loch Lomond held the event from 1996-2010. The Tournament has since been held at various top class links courses across Scotland including; Castle Stuart, Gullane, Royal Aberdeen & Dundonald. Since 2019 the event has found it's home at the stunning Renaissance Club in East Lothian and is scheduled to continue there through at least 2026.

In 2019, The Renaissance Club, held it’s first Scottish Open, attracting over 66,000 spectators – the highest figure since the tournament started travelling to venues across the country. Since then the tournament has returned each year to The Renaissance Club and has been confirmed as the host venue under new title sponsor Genesis until at least 2026. Each year The Scottish Open attracts top players in the world of golf including Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele & Min Woo Lee who have all successfully mastered the Scottish links and have been crowned Scottish Open Champion!
Rory McIlroy was crowned Champion in 2023 and made history by being the first golfer to win The Open, Scottish Open & Irish Open! Runner up that year, Scotland’s favourite Robert MacIntyre, came back strong again in 2024 and to the delight of the home crowd lifted the trophy! 2025, saw American Chris Gotterup, who arrived at the Scottish Open as the 158th-ranked player in the world, for the biggest win of his career. Each year certainly provides an an exciting spectacle of golf!
The Venue
Set next door to the famous Muirfield along ‘Scotland’s Golf Coast’, you will find the stunning Scottish Open venue, The Renaissance Club. Founded on respect for the traditions of the game, Tom Doak created a world-class course, moving very little earth and embracing the original dunes, typical of true links golf. The course has a truly distinctive style; windswept and open dunes land with trees coming into play. A great test again for the players!
