Enjoy stunning views from all holes of the Dornoch Firth on one side and the backdrop of Ben Bhraggie on the other.
A Brief History of Golspie Golf Club
The Club was founded in 1889, making it one of the oldest golf clubs in the Scottish Highlands but golf first played there back in 1878. The 9 hole course was extended to 18 holes in 1905. Later re-designed by James Braid in the 1920s, the course has an attractive mix of classic links, heath and parkland holes. The highest rated course in this category north of Inverness is Golspie Golf, which was recently ranked by National Golfer magazine at Number 69 in the top 100 courses in the UK under £100.00 in 2013.
Course Design at Golf Club Golspie
The Club is a traditional links course with a mix of heathland and parkland that is set against the stunning backdrop of the Dornoch Firth. Golspie measures 6’000 yds (Par 70) from the medal tees and sets off over lush heathland before it makes its way to the shores of the Dornoch Firth; where the true links feel kicks in. The course is characterized by its undulating fairways, deep bunkers, and challenging greens. The signature hole is the 16th called the Cairngorms, a par 3 that requires a tee shot up to a 2 level green that may require you to play it short!
