A Brief History of St Andrews Links, Jubilee Course
The Course, originally designed by John Angus, opened in 1897 was named in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and has since become a renowned gem among the St Andrews Links courses.
It was initially designed with women and novice golfers in mind, but in 1988, the Jubilee was changed by Donald Steel to a championship design due to its ideal golfing location between the New Course and the sea.
Over the years, the course has undergone several enhancements to refine its layout and maintain its reputation as a challenging and scenic golfing destination.

The Course presents golfers with a unique blend of natural beauty and strategic design. As one of the oldest courses in St Andrews, it offers a traditional links-style layout with undulating fairways, deep bunkers, and challenging greens. With its coastal location, golfers are treated to magnificent views of the North Sea as they navigate the course's twists and turns.
The Course measures approximately 6,742 yards from the championship tees. It is a par 72, including four par-3 holes, twelve par-4 holes, and two par-5 holes. This course ensures an exciting round for golfers of all skill levels and can be considered the most challenging course on the famous Links.
In our opinion The Jubilee is a must-play for anyone looking for a real golfing test on the links. The course is available for play all year round and advanced booking is essential during the busy season.
